In December our global leadership team came together in Brisbane, Australia to discuss Shaping the Workplace of the Future – the theme of our annual senior management conference. In addition to representatives from SMEC, delegates included representation from our parent company Surbana Jurong and sister companies Robert Bird Group and B+H.
The conference provided a valuable forum to discuss the group’s goals and strategic direction for 2019. Many impressive case studies and proposals were presented in relation to technical innovation, construction efficiency, information management, collaboration and knowledge sharing within our global group of companies. In line with the conference theme, a number of our young professionals pitched insightful ideas on their vision for the workplace of the future. We also enjoyed a guest presentation by Claire Madden, author and Australia’s foremost social researcher on generational engagement.
The conference wrapped up with the 2018 SJ International Awards night, celebrating the outstanding employees, innovations and projects of the year. All finalists and winners presented work of a high calibre, showcasing the talent and expertise of our teams worldwide. The awards night was emceed by Australian comedian, television and radio presenter Anthony Lehmannn, commonly known as Lehmo, and attended by a number of clients and partners.
