SMEC partners with the Australian National University Australian Football Club, to offer a new AFL Women’s Leadership Scholarship in 2018.
Following the success of the inaugural AFLW competition and surge of interest and participation in women’s AFL, SMEC has partnered with the Australian National University Australian Football Club (ANUAFC) build on the scholarship program launched earlier this year.
SMEC's Canberra office is proud to partner with the Australian National University Australian Football Club (ANUAFC), to offer a new AFL Women’s Leadership Scholarship in 2018.
The scholarship is worth $5,000 per year, for the duration of the recipient’s study program at ANU. While studying and playing football at ANU, the successful applicant will also participate in leadership training, career introductions and placements, mentoring and experience opportunities as a speaker, leader, and women’s advocate.
Through the Women’s Leadership Scholarship, SMEC and the ANUAFC aim to promote diversity and break down barriers for women’s leadership in sport, study, career and community, to provide leadership training and development, and, above all, leadership opportunities.
This scholarship reflects the ANUAFC and SMEC’s commitment to women’s leadership, creating a pathway for future generations of women aspiring to seek academic and professional excellence, and play Australian Football.
Applications for the 2018 scholarship are now open and close on Wednesday 31 January 2018.
